2010. Ricochet is a performative sonic installation, exploring live recording processes within a complex looping structure in the movement and sound. We integrate phrases of text and languages (English, Spanish, and French) to set in motion traces of bodily memories in an open space with no designated stage area. The work explores choreographic movements with technological apparatuses on and around the body (wireless microphones, sensors, six speakers, and computer), testing the performer’s ability to complete multiple actions at the same time and becoming reciprocally affected by multiple-sense stimuli in the spatial environment. Additionally, the audience, freely walking around the space, experiences a whirlwind of sensual experiences of the performer’s memory of their own bodies physically and sonically.
